Semaine Health Elevates eCommerce Unboxing with Custom Packaging Inserts

Semaine Health is a women's health company founded by Lauren Lee-Crane, Catherine Lee, and Matt Crane to take period pain seriously, with plant-based, researched formulas. As an eCommerce brand whose packaging is its first physical touchpoint, Semaine needed a box that protected its products and made a strong first impression.

Challenges

For an eCommerce brand, the delivered box is the first thing a customer touches, so it has to protect the product through a long shipping journey and still make an impression worth sharing. Semaine came to PakFactory soon after launch with three things to solve.

  • Would it survive the shipping journey?
Products had to arrive intact after a long eCommerce transit.
  • Could the box carry the brand?
As the first physical touchpoint, the packaging had to communicate the brand, not just contain it.
  • Would the product stay put in transit?
The contents needed to be held securely so they presented well on opening.

PakFactory's customer service is so responsive and we were so happy with the finished product, I can't recommend them enough.

Solutions

Semaine started with plain corrugated mailer samples to right-size the box around its products. We settled on the corrugated E-flute so that it could give the mailer the exact structure and strength to protect the contents through long eCommerce shipping.

With the structure set, the box became the brand's first impression. Printed inside and out, it pairs a minimalist two-tone exterior with a pop of color on the interior, so opening it feels like part of the product rather than an afterthought. A matte lamination finished the exterior cleanly and durably.

To make sure everything arrived exactly as intended, Semaine added a corrugated die-cut insert that holds each product in place during transit, so the unboxing looks composed rather than jumbled. A production-grade sample confirmed it all before the full run.

Result

The launch drew a lot of positive feedback, and the unboxing built a more meaningful relationship with customers. With packaging it could rely on, Semaine scaled up and expanded from its period-support line into daily supplements, and it continues to work with PakFactory as the range grows.
