Hello Adorn
East West Bank is a full-service commercial bank founded in 1973 in Los Angeles to serve the Chinese American community, now managing more than $80 billion in assets across over 110 locations. When the bank set out to honor its associates with engraved plaques, it wanted packaging that carried the weight of the recognition, not just the plaque inside.

For a financial institution, an internal recognition gift is a miniature brand statement. The box a bank places in an associate's hands has to feel as considered as the institution's own reputation. East West Bank came to PakFactory with a clear brief and three things the packaging had to get right.
The brief called for a magnetic closure rigid box in the bank's gunmetal pearlescent. We sourced several pearlescent options and, building on that direction, recommended a lighter blue-grey shimmer that gave the black foil logo stronger contrast while keeping the luminous, upscale feel the bank was after. East West Bank liked the modern twist, and that elegant finish, built on a 2.5mm greyboard shell, became the look it has reordered ever since.
With the finish settled, the logo had to carry the brand on every box. The black foil was applied with the embossing registered precisely beneath it, so the mark sits raised and sharp to both the eye and the fingertips. Because that alignment has to hold across an entire run, we proved it on prototypes first and watched the registration through production, so the last box matches the first.
Inside, the plaque needed to travel safely and still feel like a gift to open. We shaped a precision-cut EVA foam insert to the plaque's exact dimensions, with a thumb notch that lets a recipient lift it out in one easy motion. The insert keeps the plaque from shifting in transit and turns the opening into a small ceremony rather than a wrestle with the packaging.
The finished box reads as recognition before it is even opened, the pearlescent shimmer catching the light and the foil logo standing crisp and raised above it. For the associate receiving it, the plaque lifts free on the thumb notch and the whole moment feels deliberate, which adds a real sense of prestige to the recognition. The move from gunmetal to blue-grey also modernized the look without breaking from the brand, strengthening East West Bank's image inside the company and out. That is why the box became the bank's standard, reordered run after run to the same premium spec, and when a company puts this much care into how it thanks its people, the message lands.
