How Tideline Coffee Packaged Its Ocean-First Mission

Tideline Coffee is a sustainability-first coffee brand that sources from sustainable farms and gives 10% of its profits to ocean-cleaning initiatives, carrying a theme of nature and natural quality through everything it makes. It wanted packaging that expressed those green values as clearly as the coffee inside.

Challenges

Tideline's brand is built on sustainability, so the packaging had to prove it, without slowing a tight launch. The brand came to PakFactory with three things to get right.

  • Packaging that had to prove the brand's values.
The box needed to visibly reflect Tideline's eco-first, low-waste mission.
  • Eco-friendly materials and inks, not conventional ones.
Tideline wanted recyclable stock and non-toxic inks rather than standard packaging and ink.
  • A tight timeline.

Solutions

The box itself carries the message. From PakFactory's range of kraft and eco-friendly options, Tideline chose a kraft roll-end tuck-top box whose natural, uncoated look signals the brand's low-waste values at a glance, printed with the four flavor artworks in CMYK offset inside and out.

Materials had to be as green as the message. PakFactory set the box in 100% recyclable 400gsm kraft and, when Tideline asked about water-based inks, sourced water-safe vegetable inks for the run. Printing on kraft can cause ink to bleed, so the team dialed in the right ink consistency and surface until the color held cleanly.

The timeline was tight, but Tideline still wanted to see and approve a physical sample first. Because the artwork was already print-ready, PakFactory turned a sample around within a week, and since the box was small and light, shipped the finished run by air to land inside the deadline.
